Samoa landscape rich in nutrients

Why Samoa

FERTILE VOLCANIC SOILS PRODUCE NUTRIENT RICH HERBS & SPICES

Samoa on a world scale is tiny, it is remote from major pollution sources and our farmers use age-old rotational cropping systems, few chemicals and generally work small plots. The results are nutrient-dense crops grown in the rich volcanic soils that produce herbs and spices packed full of nutrients that help fight many modern illnesses.

The modern diet too often lacks vital nutrients as a result of intensive commercial farming practices or processing.

NUTRIENT-DENSE SUPERFOODS & NUTRACEUTICALS

OUR HERBS: Moringa (tamaligi fua pae'pae'), Ginger (Fiu/Sina), Turmeric (Lega), Black pepper, Kava, Noni, Raw Cacao, Green Coffee, Papaya Leaf, Guava Leaf.

WHY THESE HERBS: These are either a SUPERFOOD or NUTRACEUTICAL, containing powerful antioxidants; flavonoids, enzymes and micronutrients that have been shown to assist in maintaining wellbeing. If consumed regularly these foods assist in anti-aging and help prevent health issues by reducing oxidative stress related to our modern lifestyle and diets.

HOLISTIC FARMING & PRESERVING METHODS FOR MAXIMUM NUTRIENTS

Through a holistic approach; native trees are preserved, invasive species replaced with native trees and multi-cropping compatible herbs and crops. This encourages a complex root system supporting a soil ecosystem of fungi and bacteria which help release a wide range of nutrients from deeper soil layers for plants to absorb.

To preserve and maintain the complete natural goodness we work as quickly as possible post-harvest, using low temperatures to remove moisture while preserving enzymes, antioxidants, vitamins and natural goodness. We then reduce the dried herbs to  micro-fine powders which maximises bioavailability. (Bioactive components, nutraceuticals, in food play an important role in fighting many chronic disorders. But a problem is their low absorption rate, which is why microfine powders aid bioavailability.)
