When our cells produce energy due to any activity a byproduct know as ROS (Reactive oxygen species) results, ROS is involved in many processes but any excess needs to be removed or it causes inflammation that leads to many disorders, stress in its many forms can trigger the release of high amounts of ROS this is where antioxidants become so important as they react with the excess ROS neutralising it and by doing so reduces or prevents inflammatory response contributing to our wellbeing.
You might wonder why so many different antioxidant herbs are recommend, well our bodies are very complex and different cells have functions that respond best to a particular antioxidant molecule, whilst some antioxidants like glutathione are like a multipurpose tool used by many different cells.
Plants, grown in rich soils are natures chemical factories creating a vast array of enzymes, amino acids, polyphenols, fatty acids, protein and micro nutrients that we benefit from, many herbs and spices have exceptionally high levels of beneficial nutrients and have long been used for their medicinal properties and flavouring, by adding these gifts from nature to our modern high calorie diets often lacking in vital nutrients we can boost our wellbeing and happiness. Proactive wellness creation leads to a happy fulfilled life.

We honour our creator when we partake of the bounty around us, to cause our own illness through over indulgence on empty but sweet breads must be madness.
